This special edition holy card was commissioned for the Year of the Priest.
Pope Benedict XVI had called for the Year of the Priest to be celebrated from 2009 - 2010. The Holy Father also named St. John Baptiste Marie Vianney as the Patron of this special year. This coincided with the 150th anniversary of the death of St. John Vianney who is the patron saint of priests.
This was a limited edition collector's series card.
